Step 3: Facebook Ad Naming Structure
To track which products generate sales from your Facebook ads, you need to follow a specific naming convention.
1Understanding the Naming Structure
Use this format in your Facebook ad names to enable automatic tracking:
pid_[PRODUCT_ID]
Where [PRODUCT_ID] is the unique ID of your product in the system.
2Example Usage
If your product has ID "2", your ad name should include:
pid_2
Full ad name examples:
- "Summer Sale - pid_2 - Targeting Women 25-35"
- "pid_2 - Product Launch Campaign"
- "Holiday Special pid_2 Retargeting"
3Finding Product IDs
You can find product IDs in several places:
- Product management dashboard
- Product detail pages (in the URL)
- Statistics and analytics reports
Tracking Benefits: This naming structure allows automatic attribution of ad spend to specific products in your analytics.
Step 4: Organization & Subdomain Setup
Set up your organization profile and create a custom subdomain for your store.
